Ridicule and destroying careers with it is SOP. The GOP picked it up for themselves. T's base thrives on the ridicule of the left because it makes them feel better than.
It is such an easy method to create his base and easy to keep feeding the monster.

In 1962, Rachel Carson published Silent Spring. Ridiculing her became a pastime for corporations to stop her from telling the truth - that we are living in now.
