(1,258 posts)62. My husband at the time was in the Navy
His ship was in Bath naval shipyard getting ready for deployment to Vietnam.
The winter was isolated. We drove up from New York in September, the fall colors were amazing. I still remember them over fifty years later.

York Beach was the place we went during summer vacations as a kid. My grandparents rented a cottage.

My child went to U of Maine, Machias. So far north, you could go southwest to get to Canada

We love Maine! My son went to college at Bates, in Lewiston, so we went often during his four years there.

I know that. But, there has been a large influx of out of staters who have moved to Maine since Covid.
