I think I can explain the DOJ pursuit of the Southern Poverty Law Center. [View all]

It's another hairbrained idea of Trump to run (and presumably win) a third term as President without it being a constitutionally prohibited third term.

Trump then called for the results of the 2020 election – which he lost to Joe Biden – to be wiped if the group is found guilty of wire fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering offenses.

“If it is true, the 2020 Presidential Election should be permanently wiped from the books and be of no further force or effect!” he said.

I know, I know. One thing has nothing to do with the other. Even if the allegations were provable, that wouldn't give Trump another bite at the proverbial apple.

But he (or his crackerjack WH team) thinks it does.
