In reply to the discussion: Graham Platner Went to Hell and Back. He Has a Simple Message for Democrats. [View all]Quiet Em
(2,960 posts)70. I do not understand why anyone is even entertaining the thought of supporting this guy over the extremely qualified and
experienced sitting Governor, Janet Mills. Mills is the candidate who can defeat Susan Collins.
In a few weeks Maine will hold televised debates for the Democratic Senate primary. Hopefully when people can compare the two it will be clear that Mills actually knows what she is talking about, has a record of accomplishments and is an honest person with integrity. The debates will also also get Maine voters talking and they will start to pay attention and think about the June primary, something most voters have not even thought about yet.
That's when I want to see where the polling is.
I'm not understanding the hype for this guy. He has no experience, he has an honesty problem and he has a history of bad judgment.

I think Platner's anti-war stance is sincere, and he has matured since his early offensive behavior

You will not find that wording in the NYT article because he did not have a swastika tattoo.
