Athens Drive High School said appropriate consequences will be assigned after a social media post showed members of the schools boys lacrosse team in a lewd altered image with students from another school.
The now-deleted Instagram post that went up before the schools Friday lacrosse game against Broughton contained a photo of several uniformed Athens Drive players with images of four female Broughton High School students edited into it to create an altered lewd image. In an email Monday, Athens Drive athletic director Travis Seese told parents who complained about the post that the school will respond.

Instagram account engaged in misogynistic content
The Broughton image isnt an isolated incident, according to David, the parent of a lacrosse player at both Broughton and Enloe high schools. ... The now-deleted Red Cup Jags Instagram account said its not affiliated with Athens Drive. But David said in an email Saturday to Seese and Boshoff that the Instagram page is known by every player in the conference for its degrading and misogynistic content aimed at Athens Drive lacrosse opponents.
Players on other teams have now learned to take down their own social media pages to ensure that the account doesnt use them to mock and harass the players, their girlfriends, and their families, David wrote.
