(17,636 posts)That she is unable to function. I would expect the exact same responsibility from any man. I mean, good grief. What in the hell is wrong with expecting an adult to be an adult? Regardless of gender?
Now, do you want to argue that point?
I watched the interview with the victim and it appears from her statement that she MAY have been given something. She doesn't come out and say it, but she doesn't have memory. If she was given a date rape drug (which I've mentioned in other posts) then that is an entirely different situation.
Now bring it. Yes, I expect responsibility.
Yes, I think it was absolutely foolish for THIS particular victim to "ask him for a drink" the second time around. She should have kept her distance and the fact that she wanted to see him again gives me pause. Did she deserve to be raped? No. Was it a bad decision to meet Swalwell alone? Hell yes.
If he was as well known a sexual predator as he obviously was (according to reports coming out now), then all the more reason NOT to put yourself in a situation where you are alone with him in one bar...and then go to a second one with him. Would you do that?
So before you jump my ass - NO, that doesn't me it was okay for him to attack her, but it was a bad decision on her part (after having been attacked one time) to put herself in a situation where the possibility existed for it to happen again.
