Judge Dismisses Trumps Lawsuit Over WSJ Epstein Report

A federal judge has agreed to dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed by Donald Trump against the Wall Street Journal over its reporting on a lewd birthday letter the president allegedly wrote to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003.
The Miami judge dismissed the suit Monday without prejudice after finding that his suit filed in July failed to adequately accuse the paper, its reporters and publisher the Dow Jones Company, of committing actual malice and financial and reputational harm.
"Because President Trump has not plausibly alleged that defendants published the article with actual malice, both Counts must be dismissed," U.S. District Judge Darrin Gayles stated.
Trump was invited to file an amended complaint within two weeks if he so chooses.
Trumps $10 billion lawsuit accused the outlet of "knowingly and recklessly" publishing "numerous false, defamatory, and disparaging statements" against him, resulting in "overwhelming financial and reputational harm.
