Swalwell can still hold office. But these accusations are hurting his campaign. The way the jungle primary is set up with 20 Dems, having him on will only dilute the Democratic vote. He will still be on the ballot, but he has suspended his campaign. Democrats need to get behind a candidate.

Yes, he could have stayed in, but it would have hurt the Democrat's chances in November.
