I am an aspiring Socialist-Independent journalist [View all]
Tldr: I am currently starting my brand as an independent journalist, and am looking for constructive criticism for my passionate idea.
I am not gonna sit here and type my soul away at this here keyboard, so I'll start by saying that my name is Preston. I am starting my brand soon as an independent journalist (YouTube, Substack, and various social platforms being my means of export). I want to come across as human and real, yet still informative and not belittling to either party. The brand will be called PNN (a silly take on CNN, my initial replacing the c). On my aforementioned Substack, I'll have thought-out and earnestly written Articles, and on YouTube, a sillier take on what was discussed in my articles. My idea for my first article is something like (roughly) "The Cold Despondent Left, and the Violent Emotional Right", where I plan on highlighting each party's strengths and flaws. For example, in my article, I would take the given subject matter very seriously and be cognizant about discussing everything with an air of seriousness; however, in my YouTube videos corresponding to the article, I will have a much more casual and comedic take on whatever I'm currently talking about. I intend to get regular people, who are too exhausted to read the news, into reading articles and catching themselves up to current events. I love and care about my people, and the current state of the world right now has recently lit a fire under me to pursue journalism, like I have always wanted to do. I have never posted on any forum before, and I hope at least one person will take the time out of their day to: read my little manifesto here, give me some nice constructive criticism, or at least tell me what they think of my idea. I am open to anything
(The content will be tailored to young people, but if some older people enjoy my content and comedic tone, I am okay with them too! My INTENTIONS are selfless, and I just want more people to get into news because I care about my country and community, at large. :])
