(5,403 posts)I think that she has proven herself to be extraordinary on the national stage. I left Texas, but the last two relatives that I have there both voted for Talarico because they thought that Jasmine Crockett could not win statewide. I agree that Talarico reminds me of the Standard White Christian Texan who will stab me in the back while shaking my hand and telling me that he hates the sin, not the sinner. But having lived 6 decades of my gay life in Texas, maybe I'm over reacting. I heard so many people who actually knew Fetterman and Sinema say that they were surprised how they turned out. There must be intense pressure to compromise one's principles at that level. At least even a compromised Democratic congressperson is one more seat towards a majority, so that's some silver lining.
