In reply to the discussion: A tweet from Jasmine Crockett [View all]hamsterjill
(17,452 posts)63. You and I are most definitely on the same page.
I see a very new poster with some sassy comments and I immediately think someone is here to try to stir up trouble. If I'm wrong, then I apologize, but that was my first instinct.
I mean this when I say this - I so very much look forward to a future when no candidate has to be differentiated by race or gender, but is ONLY discussed based on their ideas and principles. But that future is only going to be a possibility EVER if we have Democrats in power and for right now, at least, we have got to play the Republican's game (unfortunately, especially in Texas) with strategy and intelligence.

Personally I'd like to see Talarico bring Crockett into his organization...

Because if you don't live in Texas, you don't understand how things work down here.

She already HAS endorsed Talarico--- except perhaps to label it as an 'endorsement' !

Jasmine Crockett was clearly tryingto keep the party united, because of the BIG picture.

EXACTLY! Sometimes people forget that an election is a choice between A or B

If you followed this primary election, you know it had nothing at all to do with that.

There is also this video here on DU that explains some of what happened in Dallas County

He had too big a lead for what happened in Dallas County to make a difference in the election.

Absolutely. She would have been elected in a nanosecond in one of the sane states.

I hope Crockett soon gets back in Congress. She is a breath of fresh air sorely needed.

She works within the confines of our government. Despite good intentions and hard work she is limited.

They should both fight to make sure that every vote cast in Dallas County is counted.

The Texas Supreme Court's edict in the middle of voting really pissed me off.

Jasmine has already conceded. I didn't see the final tally to know whether they did or didn't.

I think Crockett will work hard with Talarico to win the Senate in November. She has a bright future.
