to post this and see it's already been done.

I am SO happy about this, but ALL of us in the profession will never forget how terrifying last spring was with these EOs and EEOC target letters. We also will NEVER forget which firms bent the knee and it will affect their reputation in the community for YEARS.

A year ago, I was having a serious crisis of conscience and barely able to work, I was so distracted. It was like three months of holding my breath and praying to every pantheon of gods imaginable my firm would remember their roots and NOT cave...because after thirty years and four firms and kissing a LOT of frogs, ten years ago this month, I finally found the firm I want to retire from in about ten years. I'm permanent remote since 2020 (a GODDESS-SEND), have THE most supportive boss possible, work with amazing lawyers on interesting deals AND get billable credit for pro bono work on immigration/asylum and cannabis clemency cases as well as reproductive rights issues.

Had they made a deal with the devil, though, no WAY could I have continued working here. ALL of our major competitors caved and I was petrified we were going to as well. This man murdered my soulmate of 20+ years in 2020 and I could NOT have countenanced us doing his bidding and throwing away 100+ years of wearing the white hat just to avoid a mean tweet.

WHEN WE FIGHT, WE WIN!!!!
