For decades. If we last that long. We haven't even begun to feel the repercussions of this yet. We are being lied to about the damage to Israel and Jerusalem. And by our military.
They keep referring to the Ayatollah as a dictator but that wasn't what he was. It is more nuanced than that. They have detailed plans of succession and contingencies.
It wasnt like Hitler or Mussolini or them. I don't know what they expected to come from that. I think that they believed if they killed their leader that the government would collapse or result in infighting for power but that isn't the plan, their Constitution is their plan. They already named a new Ayatollah but are keeping his identity secret but Internet is undefeated and has their guesses.

Point I'm making is that they were prepared for this and I don't think the US knew that and Israel didn't tell them either. Because they knew. Their Constitution is a publicly available document. The structure of their government is public knowledge.

We were not prepared.
People are dying. They are doing billions of dollars in damage. Likely destroying invaluable pieces of history.
Hopefully they will tell us soon.
