Apparently Iranian Governemt handed over large parts [View all]

of their economy over to the members of the Revolutionary Guard and much of Iran is run and owned by these Guard members and their families. This was done specifically to make it hard for the Revolutionary Guard to abandon the Ayatollah(s) in a situation just like the one we see today.
