In reply to the discussion: Did i hear this right? Crockett 2 to 1 over Talerico, but ALSO [View all]pinkstarburst
(1,990 posts)23. It's coming from non-Texans who are going crazy over the idea
that actual Texans are divided and like BOTH James Talarico and Jasmine Crockett. They can't wrap their minds around the idea that this race is very close, much less the idea that James Talarico may win. He has not only been in office for four terms, so LOTS of experience, despite what some keep saying. They are going insane because they believe it should be an absolute Jasmine Crockett blow away, and since that isn't manifesting, since Texans like BOTH candidates, they are looking for any excuse to find something wrong with him that doesn't exist.

Talarico sounds good, but his talking points are reported to be 'borrowed' from others

I have only seen him once or twice but I am not impressed. He could turn out to be a Manchin, Fetterman, Sinema.

Crockett has been fighting hard and smart. She's been battle tested on the Hill and I hope she is the DEM nominee in TX

I can't tell who'd be better, but what I really want is someone who will strongly support the party and the people.

I wish them both the best and hope that the winner is supported by their former opponent

I also read this morning that Republicans are pouring a ton of money into this primary.
