In reply to the discussion: New York City police investigating after officers were hit with snowballs during a snowball fight [View all]Wonder Why
(6,743 posts)33. Anyone want to volunteer to be in a snowball fight, get hit and badly injured in the fight by an iceball
then say "Go home, officers. Your help is not needed". I'm amazed at some of the cruel comments here about officers. Save that for ICE who spray and beat the innocent just because.

They had a huge opportunity to do the "community outreach" that cops say they want to do, but god forbid you forget

They were not "under orders to quell a disturbance." Someone called 911 "disorderly conduct in the park." They show up

If city employees don't want to be pelted with snow and ice while at work, they should just find a new job, right?

Wet, heavy snow packed into a ball becomes ice, which can be very injurious to whomever is the target of it.

Of course, really. Throwing anything at a police officer is not a smart thing to do.

Having watched the video, I feel like it's possible that all involved were acting like assholes.

Someone called the police. The police had to respond. They couldn't just ignore the call...

You figure calling cops "Snowflakes" gets us more votes than calling to "Defund the Police?"
