In reply to the discussion: Has Sen. Kristen Gillibrand demanded that Rep Tony Gonzalez resign yet? Asking for Al Franken. [View all]SocialDemocrat61
(7,365 posts)43. First he could have run again but hasn't
Instead he moved back to NYC. And what made him one of the greatest senators ever? Other than one hearing when he questioned Jeff Sessions, I can't think of a single major accomplishment of his as a Senator that makes him 'one of greatest'. Yes he was a good Senator who did a lot of good things, but so has Tina Smith who replaced him.

OP
It's not how he is doing that is the issue; it's that the electorate was denied one of the best senators ever.

Why are you unwilling to accept Franken's account in which he blames Schumer?

My point is she was more concerned about taking down a political rival than protecting women.

Because she used a situation to eliminate Franken purely as a political rival: NOT COOL!

"Eventually." She did NOT rush to judgement like she did with Franken. I just proved the point!

She and 38 other Senators took almost a month from the first accusation
