My wife-to-be was in the USA for a year-long “compatibility test” (we passed). When the storm struck, I was in Switzerland and my CEO was in California. We were also best friends and roomies (that hasn’t changed, by the way) in a modest house about a half-mile walk from the green line station. Our respective girlfriends were holding down the fort.

After nearly a week, we were both able to finally fly back to Boston and get transpo to the house. Due to the snow and ice, the front door was impassable for weeks after the storm, and we could only enter and leave via the back door. For the first week, we were told that the only way to get into Boston was by going down the Massachusetts Turnpike by the only possible means of transportation still available: on skis.
