(178,773 posts)42. My nephew's in-laws have lived in S. Elgin since 1967.
They're maybe a mile west of S. Randall Road near Hopps. There must have been nothing there when their kids were growing up.
Sometime in the 1970s, my father and I went to visit one of his cousins who he thought still lived on the farm. Turned out the farm had been sold and it was now a subdivision. Can't remember where it was.
