Yes, the tariffs were a big part of his economic and foreign policy. But it was allowed to go on long enough for any reasonable person to see that using tariffs as a stick, was a massive fail. The US was slowly being isolated by their foreign allies and the economy was going into such a dive that even pro-MAGAs were thinking of relocating their companies to China.

IT WAS A FAIL, so its loss is not going to be missed because they're only limiting the damage.
