It sounds as though he thinks "disconnected" means the pacemaker is immediately disconnected internally and no longer functional. Even if she were dead, it would function for awhile--typically short depending on the condition of heart tissue, but still has nothing to do with the "disconnection" from being removed from the Apple Watch to which it no longer synced via Bluetooth.
