The inescapable knowledge that Republicans could slam the brakes on Trump RIGHT NOW. TODAY. [View all]

A lot of political pundits say things like "the checks and balances our founding fathers put in place aren't helping us defend the country against Trump's advancing dictatorship."

But let's play devil's advocate for a moment and wonder how that would change if Republicans said "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH," and that once Trump heads off to his dirt nap, there will BE NO "HEIR" TO THE MAGAt THRONE.

I want to believe America is smart enough to never elect President Donald Trump Jr...

...but I wanted to believe the same thing about his old man. That said, I still don't see it happening.

So the Republicans will eventually have to think about "life after Trump"...what would happen if Rapin' Grampy kicked the bucket, and MAGAts stayed home on election day?

They have no appeal with voters OUTSIDE OF THE TRUMP CULT, and they can't REPLICATE Trump in another body, whether it's JD Vance, or Trump's own son.

So they could start thinking about the future TODAY, and what they're going to do with what's left of their party, or...

...they could just drive off the cliff with their messiah.

But it's not the checks and balances that have failed us. We have been failed by the people who are supposed to ENFORCE those checks & balances.
