(26,619 posts)You are absolutely right - and this (and more) would need to happen in a tsunami to even hope to right the ship.
But, strongly worded memos and catering to "my colleagues across the aisle" while things take months/years to even hit the respective floors isn't going to get us there.
Bannon's firehose theory has proven to be quite effective. Throw everything you have out as often as you can to keep the news cycle so unfocused where they have to chase the latest instead of following up on what came out the day before.
Its exhausting and I remain stunned that just under half of all 2024 POTUS voters signed up for it again.
But it works.
That kind of approach would be required in order to get this stuff through - even if we control both houses.
Maybe I'm just old and jaded, but I just don't believe that our elected leadership team has this kind of assertive/aggressive positioning in them.
