2. I think we need to keep Chris Murphy where he is. He is leading "on the ground"...

and out there among the people. And I want to keep him available for 2028. But he always says - he's worrying more about saving Democracy, than talking about future elections.

Schumer's job is a different kind of leadership job. He needs to keep the caucus organized. He has not been a good messenger, and whoever replaces him should be.

My observation is that Chris van Hollen has some special qualities. The Senators themselves probably have some people in mind, who would do a good job.
