And they don't usually want to tell people how much they want to charge them.

OpenAI has admitted even the $200/mo subscription loses money for them because - surprise! - people paying for that expensive a subscription want to use AI a lot.

Both CEO Sam Altman and Perplexity's CEO have floated the possibility of $1,000/mo subscriptions.

But first you have to get people either addicted enough to pay a lot for AI, or scared enough to think they absolutely have to subscribe to the most expensive AI product out there.

Shumer's ridiculous post was meant to motivate via fear.
