"Democrat Party" is meant to be a derogatory term partly because it sounds harsh and ends with the word "rat".
Republicans don't get shamed or embarrassed much, which is all the more reason why each time they use this term they need to be called out on it. It isn't even grammatically correct. They should be told this every time, and preferably in a condescending manner.
