Part of it, I think, is that while there ARE many who APPLAUD and ENCOURAGE Trump's racism, much of the country has gone numb to it.

Once again, I have to point to Bill Clinton, George W Bush, Barack Obama...after their presidencies, while they each had various "pursuits," they largely flew under the media radar.

Trump didn't shut his mouth for ONE DAY during Biden's ENTIRE 4 years in office. He aggressively kept himself in the headlines, no matter how abhorrent his methods of doing so may have been, because he doesn't care. And yeah...the cruelty and offensiveness is "on brand" and celebrated by his cult.
