But back when I was in newspapers, reader interest had a lot to do with it. This was before website clicks (yeah, that long ago), but I'm sure that figures into it somewhat today. But the bottom line is reader interest. And as I wrote earlier, it's a story that people would care about even if Savannah Guthrie wasn't involved. An elderly woman gets kidnapped. That's gonna be a heart tugger no matter who it is or who she's related to. Look at what happened with Liam Ramos, the five year old kid kidnapped by ICE.
