3 Men with Disabilities Died of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning After Driver Allegedly 'Left Them in Running Vehicle'
Isaiah Pulu, 25, has been booked on three counts of manslaughter and three counts of aggravated abuse of a vulnerable adult
According to police in West Valley City, Utah located about 10 miles outside Salt Lake City 25-year-old Isaiah Pulu has been booked on three counts of manslaughter and three counts of aggravated abuse of a vulnerable adult following the deaths of the three men on Friday, Feb. 6.
Pulu was working as a driver for a business that provides transportation for disabled adults at the time of the incident, police said.
The three men later identified by authorities as Colton Moser, 25, Mosaati Moa, 22, and Tim Jones, 39 were all residents of different assisted living facilities, and it was not immediately clear where they were being transported.
"Around lunchtime, the driver had stopped at his own home and went inside, leaving the three men inside the running vehicle," police said in a statement. "The driver reports returning to the vehicle 1-2 hours later, finding all three men deceased."
Officers were called to the scene at around 2 p.m. local time after receiving a report of three people who were not conscious or breathing.
According to court documents obtained by local outlets ABC4 and FOX 13, Pulu allegedly "ate lunch and watched television" while the men sat in the van for more than three hours.
