9. Americans were 'fully compensated' for our burning of York (now Toronto) in the war of 1812,

when British troops burned Washington DC later in that war.....


(York was the capital of 'Upper Canada', i.e. sourthern Ontario Canada during that war.
An American raid burned their parliamentary and sundry other government buildings.)

When Trump mentioned "everything we've done for them",
that was the first example which came to my mind!
