However, my original post was about how I want to help, but there is nothing I can do that would really be of any help, and how that just makes all of this even more upsetting and deflating. I appreciate the offers of information and ideas about how to get through it all with as much of me intact as I can. That is worthwhile. And very welcome. It reminds me that the folks here are willing to at least offer something to help.

Which is more than our government is doing

My constant desire to solve everything is not a good trait, to be honest. Especially when I see what is (admittedly in general) being done and how misguided it appears to myself. I may be completely wrong, and I have said that I will happily apologize for my position if I am proven wrong.

As to not being the only one who sees things as I do, well... there does not seem to be enough to actually mount a real challenge to the status quo, so...

I guess its yet another bandaid and a kick down the road.
