But it wasn't called Super Bowl, was call the AFL-NFL World Championship Game.

In 1970 after the merger of the AFL & NFL, Lamar Hunt owner of the Dallas Texans now known as the Kansas City Chiefs, recommended the name Super Bowl, which was adopted.
In 1971, the AFC & NFC was created and played in Super Bowl V.

Today the winner of the AFC receive the Lamar Hunt Trophy, while the winner of the NFC receive the George Halas Trophy & of course the winner of the Super Bowl receive the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Feel free to make any corrections.
