. . . don't geniuses such as Raskin get a meeting room, set it up with TV cameras, press, invite the public, and hold their own public hearings?

During the mid-1990's I had a tour of duty at the Pentagon where I was chief of a division that had high Congressional visibility. The damn Republicans -- mainly Jesse Helms' staff -- would hold Republican-only public hearings where I had to testify. They stopped that shit when my boss and I both laid waste to their arguments.
