1. A Democratic congress would not block confirmation of a VP replacement

They might block a particularly heinous nominee, but would not keep the position vacant for the remainder of Vance’s term.

There would be some behind the scenes negotiations and an innocuous “bucket of warm spit” would be put forth as the nominee.

My guess is it would be someone like former VA governor Glenn Youngkin.
