847 Measles Cases Confirmed In South Carolina; Updated Numbers Due 1:00 EST 2/3 [View all]

There are now 847 cases of measles connected to the outbreak in Spartanburg County, according to data released by the South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) Jan. 30. New numbers will be posted Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m.

DPH says most of the latest cases are from close contacts with already identified cases.

Still, they recognize that the number of public exposure sites they’ve identified shows that measles is circulating in the community.

That means the risk of exposure and infection is increasing for those who are not vaccinated.
