9. Because it might be easier to get some Senate Republicans to convict some cabinet members

We wouldn’t be in as bad of a situation if Trump didn’t have a cabinet willing to do impeachable things. I certainly would like to see Trump impeached, but putting together cases against his enablers is important because these players need to be tainted to a degree that they can’t be reunited under another wannabe dictator. Impeachment processes and conviction trials are much more likely to bear potentially damaging than going after the guy with both his voters and SCOTUS granted immunity behind him. Even if they just go after the weakest and most flagrant violators, I think things might start to unravel. I think that Jan 6 and fake electors didn’t bring any convictions proximate to the administration’s inner circle allowed those inclined to continue to believe that nothing illegal happened. Nobody convicted, nobody flipped. Trump 47. In any case, it would be interesting to see who Trump’s second choices for his cabinet positions are.
