to go through Trump's financials from the last 20 years, I am almost certain they would find that he was underwater financially when he started his run for president the first time in mid 2015 - meaning, his debts were more than his overall net worth. In term 1, his income & that of the failing Trump Organization grew significantly when compared to his previous several years.

Remember, in the mid 2000s (2005 or 2006?), Tim O'Brien wrote a book called Trump Nation. He estimated Trump was worth $150 million to $250 million. Trump sued him for defamation and lost.
