13. This is one of the reasons I bought an Apple TV box.

Two months ago, my 5-yr old LG smart TV forced a web update on me. As part of that, I had to agree to all sorts of conditions about them monitoring my TV usage. (Agree or the apps won't work!)

This is stuff I had previously, reluctantly, agreed to years ago. LG reminded me of this with their update.

By connecting the Apple box to the LG TV, the picture quality has improved greatly. The Apple apps (e.g., for HBO max, Paramount, etc.) are far superior to the one's LG provides on the TV. It's quite noticeable.

I'm sure Apple is spying on me too, but better them than LG. The TV is now disconnected from the net.

Ironically, I'm not presently watching any of Apple TV's programs. I'm a "promiscuous" streamer -- a different streaming service each month. I'm finishing a paid month of HBO Max now. After three weeks, I saw everything I had wanted to.

Paramount just offered me a free month if I come back. So, if I take your free month, how much longer do you think I'll stay?
