3. Habit Broken

My wife and I are consuming less than we ever have. We're 55 and 60 YO and we are now just plain out of the habit of buying, much of anything really. We don't check AMZ for price drops on decor or housewares, we don't replace furniture or clothes or or anything just because "it's getting old" anymore, and when stuff finally breaks there's no guarantee we're going to just run out and buy a replacement anymore. So much of the clutter around the home that once seemed like a necessary convenience will probaably be the last of it's kind we every buy. It's just not in our repertoire anymore. I don't think we're the only X'ers that have said "Enough. This was all a lie, and I'm out." All that consumer buy, buy, buy habit training they gave us kids in the 80's via commercials and product placement is now defunct.
