Whether they are Christian Nationalists or simply materialists using religion to make connections and appear respectable, they seem to have little to do with Jesus.

On the other hand, there are still plenty that are full of humble people who try to follow the way of Jesus. They draw meaning and purpose from doing so and from trying to be the hands and feet of Christ in a broken and hurting world. They are places where we can laugh and cry together and help each other on the road home. Many are like my denomination which welcomes everyone regardless of gender and refuses to throw anyone away.
