...the current plan is exactly what they had proposed before. That being the ACA, also known as Obamacare. They know they need to reinstate the subsidies, but painted themselves into a corner.

They could go with Nixon's or Reagan's plan. Couple of problems, one they have already long since denounced those plans as communist. Second they need to be reworked for today, and that is not going to get done in a couple of weeks. Nor has there been any other ideas other than going back to the way things were. Which some of them want, but they know that will be political suicide.

The whole "we want to offer people a choice on plans" is bullshit. Some states can only support one health insurance company with the population they have. Unless they allow cross state or regional buy in. But that takes regulation away from the state and federalizes it, something else they don't want.

They fucked themselves. Too bad everyone else is going to feel it.
