I’ll be blunt and say I recognize none to the Trumper crowd around these days or to the predatory fucking technofascists of Google etc. Beyond a point it is making a joke of genuine obligations to science to shill a mix of mob justice or predatory data mining elites as the fix for what should be a public sector undertaking with experts who don’t have conflicts of interest nor behave like a mob.

I have been trying to dissect why every way in which the people I have encountered since 2011 think disgusts me.
It’s not secretive and elitist that an expert who is hired by a civilized govt has limits on what they can demand of a publicly funded scientist or implicitly recognizes conflicts of interest and doesn’t promote theatre or a spectacle as open science.

That’s making a mockery of publicly funded science for internet companies.
The actual thing is hard, effortful, low reward but a serious obligation in ways these fucking parasites don’t understand.

Publicly funded scientists don’t cheat because there is no point in that. I never got that Diedrich Stapel crap. What sense of pride is there in making up bs ans putting it out?
