Closest I ever got was diving under a desk when some cheap ass munitions got close.

They also say; "you never know how you'll react until you're in an extremis situation", but that is bullshit!

We fucking trained and drilled for "how we would react".

No fighter pilot knows what it's like to experience a cold catapult launch, but they train for it.

No Sailor knows what it's like when a turret blows up, but they train for it.

No Machinist Mate knows what it's like when the No. 1 Fireroom explodes into fire, but they train for it.

Every swinging dick Sailor knows what to do when you encounter shipwreck survivors.

This Admiral didn't lack training...he lacked humanity.

The fucking Nazis machine gunned American shipwreck survivors.
