7. Last week, heard an interview with the wife of a Venezuelan fisherman on NPR. She said

that these strikes are affecting the fishing industry. Normally, she said, her husband goes out 15 miles from shore to catch the best fish. Now, they limit themselves to 10 miles from the coast. Consequently, their catches are much smaller, as is their income. They're well aware of the danger the U.S. presents.

Really do wonder how many of these deadly strikes have struck fishing boats. Suspect it's more than a few. Fishing boats making a 30-mile round trip to reach their top fishing ground would need effective engine power, which could be mistaken for drug craft.
