About attempts to censor, warn, clean up or otherwise protect people from the very real horrors of WW2. I saw the images of Belsen when I was around eight or nine years old. Everyone did - child and adult alike in the UK in the 50s. It was part of growing up and understanding the very near past.

I'm reminded of the citizens of Weimar being taken to view Buchenwald when the fighting stopped. On the way there they were cheerful and resolute. Then they started fainting and vomiting when they saw the real situation.
