(100,132 posts)I am very encouraged that Ventura is responding, and from other info it looks like were collaborating with the other Central Coast counties, i.e. Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, known locally as the Tri-Counties.
May ICE melt in the heat of a thousand suns.

COMMUNITY ALERT
Confirmed ICE Activity in Ventura County
Fellow Democrats,
Since early this morning, we've received an influx of alerts from 805 Immigrant Rapid Response System and VC Defensa confirming ICE operations throughout Ventura County.
Videos of caravans of dozens of ICE vans in our countys agricultural fields, schools and apartment complexes have filled our community with fear. This comes as our counterparts in LA are being tear-gassed, arrested and intimidated by this administration- which so negligently denied the use of the national guard in the January 6th riots- but approved the use of 2,000 national guards in the streets of Los Angeles, amidst protest from our Governor and Attorney General.
Make no mistake, our democracy is being threatened.
While we honor the laws of this nation, we refuse to stand by as Donald Trump weaponizes federal power to trample due process and rip families apart. This is not justice its tyranny in plain sight.
In these times, we need to stand up as Democrats against this wave of terror. It is our opportunity to show up for our immigrant community, our essential workers, and our democratic processes. Right now, our local response networks are at capacity.
We need volunteers but training opportunities are limited at this time. However, its important that we all continue to stay active in any way we can: Stay informed and help inform others through the Alerta systems; share photos and videos with response teams; and if youre able, drive through the fields to help keep watch for ICE activity.
In the next few days, the Ventura County Democratic Party will share additional ways to get involved. Please note that volunteer activities may include the following:
Drive people (to court appointments, to get groceries for folks, etc.)
Report ICE Sightings to the hotlines, who will then confirm these sightings
Training on how to confirm sightings and capture footage verifying a confirmed sighting.
