5. WhatsApp is required in Central America

It’s used by nearly everyone to communicate both texts and voice calls.

I hadn’t even heard of it until we started looking for a home in Panama. Now, it’s all we use with our contacts there. Even the airlines use it to communicate with passengers!

Interestingly, Apple Maps and Google Maps are not nearly as good as Waze in that part of the world.

While I’m not a fan of Meta, (I barely have a Facebook account), when in Rome…
