(25,355 posts)Musk wanted to buy the presidency to gain more power for himself and to carry out his own distorted vision of life.
Trump needed a money boost for his campaign. Perhaps Putin was drying up as a source? Or Putin thought that Trump was a bad investment after the 2020 campaign? Or, maybe Trump already had his eye on Ukraine's rare earth metals during the campaign and didn't want to rely on Putin. I'm sure that Trump liked having another deep source of money from Musk for a little more personal independence from Putin. Perhaps Trump also chose to use Musk as the bad guy to blame for the Project 2025 draconian cuts in funds and jobs. Use him and then dump him.
So, without Musk a money backer, is Trump turning back toward Putin again? And where does that leave Ukraine now?
