(2,090 posts)Of course! There can only ever be one Marcia. . . Or am I thinking of The Highlander? The point is, both of them operate from a Zero Sum perspective on life. There is no way that either of them can truly share power/the spotlight/control, you name it.
I was just thinking that since Musk knew he could never be elected POTUS, he figured that buying and (presumably) controlling the Most Powerful Person in the World would give him the satisfaction of being de facto POTUS. The problem for him (and all of us, really) is that Trump cannot be controlled; he can only be manipulated-- and all too easily, at that.
So, why didn't Musk just stick with manipulation? Maybe something in his psychology prevents him from using that tactic. Maybe it was too oblique a method and he just wants to be Marcia so badly that he can't even pretend to be Jan.
