(52,313 posts)10. As well as the pharmaceutical companies
who made once affordable inhalers ($10-$15 each) unaffordable for the average person. I remember paying as little as $12 for an inhaler, but the price went up 500-600% some years ago when the pharmaceutical industry pushed congress to outlaw the old CFC inhalers so they would be able to jack up the price with new HFC inhalers, because they were technically a newly patented drug.
Big Pharma made a fortune on that one, while pretending they were the environmentally conscious good guys*, and they are still raking in the cash.
*The drug companies couldn't give a shit about the ozone. They saw an opportunity to make a lot of money and they took it.

Well, I don't think we got to see many of the people who suffered from these kinds of ailments back then.
